Our Food, Our Right: Recipes for Food Justice
Please join us for an evening with Raj Patel and Heather Day (CAGJ) to celebrate our emerging new food systems! Our Food Our Right is a new publication of Community Alliance for Global Justice (CAGJ), a Seattle-based grassroots organization, with a foreword by Raj Patel (renowned author and food activist).

Come to celebrate stories from the global food sovereignty movement, try recipes from the book, and hear the stories behind the recipes. There will also be discussions about what other participating organizations are engaged in to create new food systems. Please come and share your stories as well!
Our Food, Our Right: Recipes for Food Justice combines hands-on tools for change with community recipes and political awareness to engage YOU in joining in the struggle for food justice! Our Food, Our Right promotes community knowledge sharing, self-sufficiency, accessibility, and food justice through a food sovereignty framework.

Highlights about book:
· The book is unique in that it combines hands-on tools for growing and cooking your own food, with education about the global food system.
· The focus is on positive stories of change, with examples from around the world of how new food systems are being created that are rooted in tradition, culture, and innovation.
· The book was a collaborative effort, including over 50 contributors’ articles, poems, and recipes.
· It’s a cookbook for great food and transformation of the food system.
Heather Day co-founded CAGJ with others who helped organize the 1999 WTO protests, and were inspired to build a membership based, multisectoral organization for global justice in Seattle.
